About the Home

Big Sky Chalet is located on the first tee of Nicklaus North Golf Course and offers expansive views of both Whistler and Blackcomb mountain. Recently upgraded and designer furnished, Big Sky Chalet is a 4 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom, 2 level home whose beautiful use of natural stone and exposed log beams capture the spirit of a luxury Whistler Chalet.

Living Areas

The welcoming entrance features a mud room for all your equipment storage needs and leads to the spacious open concept main living level that features a formal living room with oversized leather couches, wood burning fireplace and floor to ceiling windows offering expansive views of the fairway. The gourmet kitchen features a Wolf gas range, Sub-Zero refrigerator, granite countertops and a spacious island. The dining area seats 10 comfortably. Via glass doors, from either the dining room or media room you can access the back patio that features a sitting area with a heat lamp for those cool evenings, BBQ and private hot tub tucked into the garden enclave. For your entertainment needs, Big Sky Chalet also features a private home theater room featuring a 60" flat panel projection television, surround sound system and CD/DVD player.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

All of the bedrooms are located on the upper level. The grand master suite features a king bed, flat screen TV, a private sundeck with mountain views and a dual sided gas fireplace shared with the luxurious ensuite that features a double vanity, a deep soaking jacuzzi tub and a separate glass-enclosed steam shower. The second bedroom features a queen bed, flat screen TV and an ensuite with a single vanity and glass-enclosed shower. The third bedroom features a split king bed, flat screen TV and a comfy sitting area with a sofabed for extra guests. The ensuite features a single vanity and a glass-enclosed shower. The fourth bedroom features a tri-bunk bed, a small combination TV/DVD player and an ensuite with a bathtub and overhead shower. For added convenience, there is a guest powder room on the main level of the home.

We had a great March Break in the Big Sky Chalet. The BBQ could be replaced and the washer and dryer were from another planet but other than that the place was amazing!

My husband and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary with our 3 children and a girlfriend. When we pulled up to the home with the concierge we knew we had rented a special home. We were not let down upon entering the home. It was extremely spacious, with every amenity. Everyone had their own space and bathroom. The kitchen had everything a cook needed. We enjoyed the outdoor space and enjoyed going to the country club for a coffee in the morning. Who could argue with the beauty of the mountains that surrounded us. We went in early summer, so the one draw back for us was being directly on the golf course...lawn mowers and blowers wereused very early in the morning. We did have our own car which made it easier for us to get in to town, but if willing I am sure it would be a 20 minute walk. Overall this was a fantastic vacation in a beautiful home.

This was our second time staying at this property. The management company for booking this chalet has changed since our first booking; and to be completely fair and honest, we prefer the previous management firm.

Let's point out a few things.

First, the location and overall quality of this chalet is very good. It is close to the Village, and it very comfortably sleeps 8 people.

In terms of the actual experience, let me point a couple of things out that we noticed this time around:

1). The property management states that this is a no-pet property. That's all fine and dandy, but what they fail to mention is that this chalet is located in a residential neighborhood. We had neighbors dogs or dogs walking in the area go to the bathroom around our property during our stay. This was not ok.

2). The cleaning service is mediocre, at least from our experience this time around. The dishes stored in the cabinets in the kitchen were not clean, and we found multiple smoked cigars planted in the snow surrounding the hot tub on this property. Niether of these are ok, and it is the job of the property management firm to ensure it doesn't happen. But it happened.

3). This one really blew my mind. You are required to remove your own trash prior to your check out. If there was a garbage pick up or a service similar to that, it would not have been a problem. However, the garbage drop off is located half a mile from this home. That's right. This means that it is YOUR job to transport your trash in your car from this property to the garbage disposal center prior to your check out. This part was the most unsatisfactory part of our stay. The previous company did not require this, and our check out was as easy as returning the key back to the office.

A beautiful chalet, spacious and very comfortable. The only issues we had were the dishwasher and oven did not work very well - dishwasher didn't clean properly and the oven racks would not pull out easily. We also had problems with the washer/dryer. For such a high end place we were a little disappointed with the appliances.

I booked my stay at the Big Sky Chalet through Whistler Platinum and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The staff were extremely professional and helpful. They were very attentive and tended to our needs with a sense of urgency. My guest experience planner, Ohnmar, even replied to my messages on her day off. The chalet is in very good condition, and the few minor maintenance issues that we experienced during our 7 night stay were always attended to and fixed within half a day. We had 8 adults and one baby staying at the house and we were always very comfortable; even the dining table seated us all! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property and we can't wait to come back!

This is our third stay at Big Sky. We just love it. However, this year, when we checked in, there was an awful smell in the kitchen area. It seems like the cleaning staff used dirty/smelly water to wash the floors. After a couple of days, the smell went away. Not the greatest way to be welcomed to our vacation home! Other than that, things were great as always.

Beautiful chalet with all possible amenities already there. Although it is a bit of a walk from the village, Green Lake, parks, Nick North, and a variety of other late spring/summer/early fall recreational activities are very close.
Fantastic views and en-suites in every room make this ideal for multiple couple vacations. The large garage and "mudroom" near laundry are well thought out and convenient. Media room is great.
We got a good last minute deal, but would repeat at the regular rate.

we had a fantastic holiday. loved whistler, skiing, being with my family. The house was fantastic and the view was beautiful but the jacuzzi didn't work a lot of the time, we got smoked out as there wasn't instructions saying to open up vents. the fire was working in the bedroom and the BBQ heater wasn't working. So was a bit disappointing for the money we spent on it. But it was such a beautiful house and I'm trying not to think of the downsides.
Impressed with Whistler Platinum service as they tried there best to get these things fixed.

We really enjoyed our stay at Big Sky for the second year in a row. It is a beautiful and spacious property with plenty of room for guests. The kitchen is an absolute dream!

However, we were disappointed to find that the toilet in the master bedroom is still acting up. And, there was no coffee maker when we first arrived!

That said, Erin and her team did a fabulous job of meeting our needs and providing help and support whenever required. We look forward to Year 3!

Minimum Age Requirement

The minimum age requirement for 4+ Bedroom units is 30 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. The minimum age requirement for 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units is 25. Guests can be denied check-in if they do not meet the minimum age policy.

Payment and Cancellation Policy

Summer Season - May 1 to October 31: A non-refundable deposit of 30% of rent plus tax is taken at the time of booking. The balance of your stay is automatically charged 30 days prior to arrival. For bookings made within 30 days of arrival, the full amount will be charged at the time of booking and is non-refundable.

Winter Season - November 1 to April 30: A non-refundable deposit of 30% of rent plus tax is taken at the time of booking. The balance of your stay is automatically charged 60 days prior to arrival. For bookings made within 60 days of arrival, the full amount will be charged at the time of booking and is non-refundable.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and bank transfers. Payments are non-refundable once processed.

Security Deposit

A security deposit will be required upon arrival. The security deposit will be held by way of a pre-authorization on a valid credit card. Guest (s) will either be required to sign a credit card authorization slip for the amount of the security deposit or enter their PIN for CHIP enabled credit cards. Cheques will not be accepted. The Manager may capture part or all of the security deposit to cover costs for excess cleaning, property damage, missing inventory, and noise violation fines imposed by a strata or the municipality. The amount of your deposit varies depending on the property reserved; One Bedroom: $500, Two Bedroom: $1000, Three Bedroom: $1500, Three Bedroom Den and Four Bedroom: $2000, Five and Six Bedroom: $2500, Kadenwood Homes: $5000.

Extra Person Charges

Rates are based on the bedding in each property. Adults sleeping on a pull out sofa bed will incur an extra charge of $50.00 CDN per person per night plus taxes. There is no additional fee for children under 18 years of age.

Tax

In the event of tax alterations by the government, Whistler Platinum Reservations Ltd reserves the absolute right to collect the revised tax without prior notice.

Garbage

Each complex has a garbage room. It is the responsibility of the guest to remove garbage. To protect wildlife in Whistler please do not leave garbage outside.

Guest Pre Arrival Forms

Whistler Platinum must receive completed guest pre-arrival forms with requested bed configurations, number of people staying in the property and expected time of arrival a minimum of 15 days prior to arrival date, or reservation may be subject to cancellation.

Hot Tubs

Whistler Platinum ensures that all private hot tubs are maintained regularly. Guest use hot tubs at their own risk. The strata management company for the complex maintains communal hot tubs. If you experience any problems, please call our office. Occasionally, tubs may need to be shut down for maintenance. Such maintenance is unavoidable and is to protect the health of users.

Housekeeping

Your property will be fully cleaned and prepared for your arrival with fresh sheets, towels and amenities. For guests staying eight nights or longer a complimentary mid stay clean and linen change will be scheduled. Laundry facilities are available at all properties either in-suite or in the building. Additional housekeeping services, including daily service, can be arranged for an additional fee and subject to availability.

Internet and Telephones

Wireless Internet access and all local telephone calls are free.

Liability Disclaimer

Prices for accommodation and packages are subject to change without notice, and reservations are based on availability. The information, products, and services published on this website may include inaccuracies or errors, including pricing errors. In the event that accommodation or packages are listed or provided to us at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to typographical error or other error in pricing information, Whistler Platinum Reservations Ltd expressly reserves the right to correct any pricing errors on our website and/or on pending reservations made under an incorrect price. In such event, if available, we will offer you the opportunity to keep your pending reservation at the correct price or we will cancel your pending reservation without penalty.

Limit of Liability

The booking guest and all members of the said guest's party (the "Guests") agree to conform to all notices, rules and instructions in and about the home. Guests are responsible for their own conduct and that of any invitees. Manager reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to refuse or interrupt occupancy in the event of any non-fulfillment or breach of rental conditions. Neither the Property Owner nor Manager shall be held liable for any losses, claims, damages, costs or expenses arising out of any theft, accident, injury, death, damage, delay, inconvenience or distress, whether or not arising by the negligence of the Property Owner or Manager and the Guests hereby waive any and all such liability.

A confirmed reservation by e-mail constitutes notice to Guests of these exclusionary terms and Guests are deemed to have read and agreed to the foregoing. The Guest booking this accommodation is responsible for making all members of the party aware of these terms, failing which the said Guest will be held liable to and shall save harmless and indemnify the Property Owner and Whistler Platinum, from any losses, claims, damages, costs or expenses arising as a result thereof.

Should the property become uninhabitable or unavailable, Manager reserves the right to substitute another property for the one which has been booked, with every attempt made to provide a property or properties of similar or better quality. A confirmed reservation by email constitutes notice to Guests of these terms and they are deemed to have read and agreed to the foregoing and to have irrevocably authorized Whistler Platinum accordingly.

Multiple Properties

Please note that all properties are privately-owned and are equipped according to the individual owner's taste and requirements. Groups renting more than one property need to make sure inventory stays in the property. A restocking charge will be deducted from the security deposit if items have been moved to other properties.

Non-Smoking

All of our properties are non-smoking. Any unit with evidence of smoking inside will result in a $500 fine.

Parking

All properties have a specified parking stall for one vehicle. Some larger properties have two parking stalls. There is visitor parking available at most complexes, on a first come, first served basis. The average height clearance is 6ft. 9in. Over sized vehicles are difficult to accommodate in Whistler and parking for such vehicles may not be available at peak times. Parking instructions are unique to each complex and must be followed.

Pets

Pets are permitted only in designated pet friendly properties. We ask that you leave your pets at home as they will be refused entry to a non-designated property. There will be a $500 fine for any pets or evidence of pets found in any non-designated pet-friendly units.

Towels

Adequate quantities of towels will be provided for the number of people booked. Delivery of extra towels is available, upon request.
