Glacier Lodge 229 winter experience 2013
Martin R. from Enskede, N/A, Sweden stayed here in February, 2013
Great apartment and location. The poor thing is Glacier Lodge 229 is not a part of the Glacier Lodge management. Arrive in the middle of the night from over seas (23 hours ride) and not being able to get the keys to the 229 apartment at Glacier Lodge front desk ( we supposed to get them somewhere else far away up in the village and the Taxi was not available within 45 minutes this Saturday night to reach the Platinum Office), also we supposed to have "Free Internet" in our apartment, "Free" means just one computer and very limited use was allowed. The Platinum management was always keen to help when solving a problem but you have to put up a lot more convenient alternative for future late arriving customers instead of this late night hide and seek apartment key horror! Enough whining since The Lodge is fantastic, we just loved 229. Spacious quiet and kitchen and bathroom in perfect condition. Also very close to the skiing area! We love to come back!

Great location, rooms not spacious enough
Juan D. from Mexico City, DF, Mexico stayed here in January, 2013
Glacier Lodge has GREAT location. The unit is well mantained and has a very spacious living room and dinning/kitchen area.
The downside is the lack of space in the main room and den. There is not much room for clothes and the beds are not comfortable.

Great Location, Wonderful Stay
Katherine B. from Surrey, British Columbia, Canada stayed here in December, 2012
We stayed over Christmas/ New Years and were grateful for a quiet location that was still central to everything. The space was great for our family of four. Check in and out was easy. We had a problem with the code for the door not working but a quick call on our cell and it was fixed in 30 sec. The only issue we had was with the daily limit on internet. We have an online business and having unlimited access is crucial. Overall, it is a nice condo in a great location. Walking distance to everything.

great location in the upper village
John K. from Pompano Beach,, Florida, United States stayed here in August, 2012
We stayed for 5 nights with our nearly 2 year-old son. The layout was great for families with kids, rooms upstairs allow kids to go to bed while parents stay up, but room close to master to allow for access during night if the child wakes up. The property was not brand new but very clean and the unit itself was very nicely maintained. We did have issues with internet access (codes not working) but the property management company helped to work it out. Overall a great experience, excellent price/value ration.

Fun room. The kids loved having their own space and TV. The also liked looking down to the living room from their room windows. The in room jacuzzi tub was nice. Would definately stay there again.

Great property, excellent location, perfect for our family
Steve M. from London, , United Kingdom stayed here in April, 2012
Unit 229 is a great space for a family of four - bedrooms are good size, two nice bathrooms, lots of storage, but most importantly a great, large living and dining space and full kitchen. The balcony outside would be great in Summer. Ski rental shop in the building as well as lovely Ciao Thyme Bistro. Liquor Store next door and small grocery store across the road. It's less than 5 mins in Ski boots from the apartment door to the Wizard Chairlift and that's hard to beat.
Glacier Lodge also has a pool and two hottubs which were nice on the sunny afternoon. We would definitely consider renting this place again and recommend it to others.

Perfect location in upper village
Yu-Hsien L. from , , Hong Kong stayed here in January, 2012
The initial check-in was a little confusing, because we actually have to check-in in the hotel NEXT DOOR, at the La Chamois instead of at the Glacier Lodge itself. And because we are not staying at La Chamois the check in counter could not give us the Wi-Fi passwords; the receptionist tell us to get it from the Lodge, but at the Lodge, the receptionist says that since we didn't book through them, he doesn't suppose to give us the passwords, we should ask our own agent... Any way, at the end the receptionist at the Lodge gave the password to us. The second confusion comes when I need some information regarding the Lodge facility, and I use the phone in the room to call the reception, but it goes straight to La Chamois, and again, when I ask them questions they could not answer, and tell me that I must go ask the reception at the Lodge myself, which means that I have to get out of the bed and get dressed and PHYSICALLY go downstairs to the reception if I need any little question to be answered. This I find very annoying and unprofessional. Well, if a phone is provided in the room, the agent should train the end of the receiver to have knowledge of ALL PROPERTY, or simply offer to find out then CALL BACK, not to tell your client to go find out for themselves.
Well, other then this service hiccups, I find the property very lovely and charming and in a perfect position regarding going up to the slope/lifts; or the shops & restaurants. I cannot commend much of the kitchen, because we didn't cook at all the entire stay. Because everything was so convenient, every morning, we just go down to the Portobello Cafe across the street in the Fairmount Hotel, it opens at 7am which is good if you want to have an early start of the day. For food, there're many good restaurants around the hotel, or simply take a short walk under the bridge/tunnel, within 10 mins you will be in the buzz of the Whistler Village.
We love the property very much it's spacious and

Very nice unit in an above average building.
A guest from Vancouver, British Columbia, United States stayed here in December, 2011
We were very satisfied with unit 229. It was clean and decorated nicely. Looks like recently renovated. The Glacier Lodge itself is above average. We were not directly connected with the front desk downstairs so any inquires and requests had to go to front desk at Chamois which was not very convenient. We would stay there again.

Awesome Location, Amazing Vacation
Brad R. from Chester, NS, Canada stayed here in February, 2011
We received 211 cm of snow the week we were in Whistler. It was amazing! The kids were able to put their skis on outside the Glacier Lodge door and ski (or be pushed) to the base of Blackcomb for their lessons. The location was the perfect spot for our family. It's a short enjoyable walk to Whistler village and returning to Glacier Lodge we truly enjoyed the quieter atmosphere for relaxing in the evenings. We had an amazing week and would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Whistler. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Overall it was good but there were just a couple of niggles. The cooker failed to maintain the temperature, so our Christmas Dinner was about 3 hours late to the table. The electricity kept tripping and the desk staff wanted nothing to do with us as we were not Glacier Lodge guests. Fortunately we worked out one of the hairdryers kept tripping, so we stopped using it. The washing machine and dryer were not in the appartment, which the advertising led me to believe, which provewd a little inconvenient as other people obviously used the equipment and we had top stay in and wait for it to finish, so not as to inconvenience other guests

Glacier Lodge 229
Julius K. from , , United States stayed here in August, 2010
The experience in this condo residence was overall very good. We were only two people but I could see how it could accommodate a family of up to six or two related couples. The sleeping setup upstairs is the reason I say that. You have to travel through what could be the sleeping quarters of children to get to the master bedroom. We were either fortunate, or unfortunate depending upon your preference, to be in Whistler during their heat wave. Daytime temperatures were in the mid 30’s and it took until early morning to cool down the unit. We had to leave the windows and balcony door open to let in the air as no fan was provided for the upstairs sleeping section. The ceiling fan, despite being on from the minute we walked in until the time we left was unable to cool the sleeping area. However, remember that the average summer temperature is considerably lower and this unit is equipped with a fireplace and heated floors.
We came to the conclusion that they fog the Whistler area because there were no black flies or mosquitoes in the unit despite never closing the windows and door. The balcony wraps around and provides complete privacy. There are two washrooms – so I could use the downstairs shower while my spouse slept upstairs. The Glacier lodge can be known to be too close to the busy walk nearby but this unit had no noise issues whatsoever and we were there when they had the mountain bike event. The unit was generally clean and in good shape. The appliances look good but appear to be on the lower end of the higher end. The refrigerator was running for two days until I figured out that it was set up way to high. I turned it down to the settings suggested and it worked much better – cooled better after that. The dishwasher left a film on all the dishes. I began to wash them by hand. I did not spend much effort trying to figure it out – it could just be the wrong soap, lacking rinse aid or softener. A vacuum would have been useful – I don’t sweep

Fantastic Vacation
A guest from Essex, UK, United Kingdom stayed here in April, 2010
I can advise that the room was fantastic, clean & exactly as the pictures we received beforehand.
The location is great for skiing & quiet, easy enough to get to the main village & some local shops & restaurants so ideal for families but not so great if your 21 & looking to go clubbing each night.
The staff at Whistler platinum were very helpful & friendly both before booking & upon arrival.
I had a fantastic vacation & would use this company again or recommend to friends.
