Northern Lights # 16 is a spacious four-bedroom plus den townhome with a newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms located just above the Westin Resort & Spa, and only a short distance to the heart of Whistler Village. It is ideal for extended family vacations or groups of friends.
The upper level features a coatroom, entrance to the garage, small landing, and the master suite. The master suite offers a king bed, television, and a sitting area with views of Whistler village. The suite includes an ensuite bathroom with glass-enclosed shower, separate jetted tub and single vanity.
The main living area is on the middle level and features a combined living room, dining area, and kitchen. The vaulted ceiling and a two-story wall of windows offer an abundance of natural light and impressive views of Whistler village.
Prepare dinners in the newly re-modeled kitchen with granite counters and KitchenAid appliances or cook up a feast on the BBQ on the deck. Host family and friends around the 8-seat dining table or gather around the wood-burning fireplace and relax in-front of the flat screen television after a day outdoors. The guest bedroom on this level features a king split bed, fireplace and views over Whistler. This level also offers a guest powder room and laundry with washer/dryer.
Downstairs, the lower level has two guest bedrooms, a den with flat screen television, two bathrooms, a steam room, and deck with a large private hot tub. One bedroom offers a queen bed and built in closets for plenty of storage. The larger second guest bedroom features two sets of bunk beds, built in closets and a television. The shared bathroom offers two separate rooms with a single vanity and WC, and interconnecting doors join both rooms to a shared bathtub with overhead shower. Down the corridor, an additional separate shower and steam room completes the lower level.
For access to the mountains, many guests choose to drive or taxi 2 minutes to the base of Whistler village to access the gondola and lifts adjacent to the Westin Resort & Spa. Alternatively, more adventurous guests can access an intermediate level ski trail that connects Northern Lights to the base of Whistler by climbing 100 plus stairs on a steep incline that are 100 metres from this home.

Fantastic property
Fantastic property. But be warned re: ski-in/ski-out. On the ski-out point, yes, it is possible to ski-out but you must first walk approx. 50m to a set of stairs. Then once the stairs finish, it's approx 100m hike up the mountain. You'll count that as your warm-up every day!

Beautiful Townhome almost in the VillageAwesome place for those willing to walk 10 min down to village or back up a slight grade to reach the Townhome. It was fine for us 20-40-50 year olds. There is no shuttle. So a drive and park in the village may be a pain or a $10 cab ride each way. Again, the Townhome is awesome with great views, open design, plenty of beds and baths. Sauna is hidden. We stumbled upon it on the last day but never used it. And we didn't find the steps to the slopes until last day. Would strongly recommend to those willing to walk.

House RentalWe had fun because the whole family could be together, but there is an initial feeling of distrust because you have to deposit $2000 and the property is already so expensive. This created a bad feeling to start with.
Also, it seems overpriced. The property claims to be in Whistler Village when it's actually quite a walk away. My 83 year old dad (who paid for the vacation rental) thought he was going to walk out the door and be in the village. He always had to call a cab to get down and up the slippery hill where the house was located. For almost $1500 a night we thought we were getting a home in Whistler Village.

Northern Lights 16A well appointed house with a fine view. Cutlery and crockery rather chunky. A good walk up from the village and the climb up to the piste wakes one up before skiing. Whistler Platinum staff were very helpful although I was disappointed that they forgot to tell us that the lock combination had changed on our last day so we returned to the house to check out we could not get in and had to call them to discover the new combination.

Excellent Stay The property was in excellent condition and had just undergone a reno so all the kitchen appliances where brand new and high end. A nice touch was that they set up the old fridge in the garage for extra refrigerator space. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need in order to cook just about any meal. 8 person dinning room table and 8 person hot tub were nice touches for accomodations built for 8 people. The only downside was that there wasn't a shower on the main floor where there is one bedroom, instead there is a laundry room. Aswell, be prepared for a 5-10 minute climb to get to the Lower Olympic trial up about 80 stairs and some serious inclines. Not a show stopper by any means but something to be mindful of. Overall, an excellent property to rent.
