Ziptrek Whistler

Ziptrek Whistler

Zip-trekking over Whistler involves moving from treetop to treetop while attached to a cable via a full-body harness. The harnesses attach to a zip pulley via two tethers (one main and one backup) that hang suspended from a half inch galvanized cable. The cable trail is connected to landing platforms. The series of cable cords and suspension bridges move riders over gaping gorges and ice framed rivers. Ziptrek gives guests exclusive access to areas of rare and untouched ancient coastal temperate rainforest. All this only minutes away from Whistler Village.

Ziplining is a year-round activity that marries a fun and unique, high-flying adventure with education about the resort's ecology and wildlife. Whistler features two distinct zipline adventures from which to choose - Skyline and Ziptrek. Skyline, located at Cougar Mountain, lets participants zipline while secured in a seat, while Ziptrek lets visitors glide in a harness between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains.

Tours operate in all weather conditions, 365 days a year. Not just rides, naturalists who are zip-line companion's answer questions and provide relevant information about Whistler's ecology and the ancient forests. Ziptrek Guides are professionally trained to deliver educational curriculum to guests, covering topics from Glaciers to Wildlife to Plant life. The longest zip line travels more than 1000 feet across Fitzsimmons gorge, at over 60 mph. There are no age restrictions, the oldest guest so far was 86 and the youngest was 6. That said they do have a minimum weight of 65 pounds. If I had to do one thing in Whistler, Ziptrek would be it. If you're more adventurous, go for the Eagle tour over the Bear; it includes a 2000ft awe-inspiring monster line that drops over 20 stories!
