Can I travel to Whistler for a holiday during the 2009/ 2010 season?

Definitely! Outside of the weeks leading up to and during the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (February 12-28, 2010 and March 12-21, 2010, respectively) the 2009/2010 season will be business as usual.

In the months leading up to/after the Winter Games, will I be able to ski/snowboard in Whistler?

Both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains will be in operation before, during, and after the Games with 90% of the trails and runs open. Check out our fantastic winter packages for the 2009/2010 season.

Will there be lodging available during the 2009/ 2010 season in Whistler?

In the months leading up to February 2010, will I be able to get to Whistler?

The Sea to Sky Highway improvement project is scheduled to be completed in late summer 2009. In the meantime, the highway remains open and travellers should not be experiencing much inconvenience other than occasional short delays and pre-scheduled closures.

  • January 25 to March 27, 2010:
  • Dave Murray Downhill and Franz's Run closed to the public
  • Peak to Creek run will be open for skiing to the base of Creekside
  • February 1 to March 1, 2010:
  • Creekside Gondola closed to the public
  • February 13 to 28, 2010: Access to Timing Flats Game-time
  • Timing Flats chair lift (accredited personal and spectators, mainly load-in)
  • Spectator Pathway (800m length, varying terrain, mainly load-out)
  • March 2, 2010:
  • Creekside Gondola will reopen to the public with priority access given to Paralympic athletes, officials and workforce
  • March 2 to 27, 2010:
  • Skier access to Creekside base from either Peak to Creek run or downloading via Creekside Gondola
  • There will be no ski in/out access to the following properties from January 25 to March 27, 2010:

  • Taluswood #14
  • Taluswood #42
  • Taluswood The Bluffs #13
  • Taluswood The Ridge #14
  • Taluswood The Heights #1

As the Creekside Gondola will be closed during the month of February, Kadenwood guests may opt to ski to the base of Creekside and proceed to the Village Gondola Transit Station via the Creekside Express Shuttle departing every 10 mins. Or, you may use the Kadenwood Shuttle departing every 20 mins which proceeds to the Village Gondola Transit Station.
