Snowed In Comedy Tour

Four international headlining comedians come together to go snowboarding during the day and do comedy shows at night at the Garibaldi Lift Company. Arj Barker (Dave from the HBO sitcom Flight of the Conchords), Just for Laughs winner Dan Quinn, Edinburgh nominee Pete Johansson and Craig Campbell all on the same show. Tickets are $25 and the comedy show starts at 8:30 PM.

Whistler Blackcomb's 'Deep Winter' photo contest celebrates the powerful storm cycles that pound the Coast Mountains which Whistler skiers and riders revel in. Peak to Valley Race

The Peak to Valley is a long standing and unique team race on Whistler Mountain. Mixed teams of four race from the Whistler Saddle in Whistler Mountain's high alpine to an exciting finish at Dusty's in Whistler Creekside. Two team members race on Friday and two on Saturday. The starting order is based on age, with the oldest competitors starting first. Register in person prior to the event day at any Whistler Blackcomb Guest Relations or Ski & Snowboard School Sales locations.

44th Luge World Championships

The Whistler Sliding Centre is host to the 44th World Luge Championships. Come cheer on the athletes to victory. The Sliding Centre is the place to be this weekend with entertainment, local food vendors, beer gardens and fireworks nightly. Opening Ceremonies to be held in Whistler Village Square on January 30th, 7 PM. Tickets are just $10 with children 6 and under free. Race Schedule: Friday February 1 - Doubles 3 PM, Men 5:15 PM. Saturday February 2 - 3PM Women, 6:15 PM relay.

King of the Rail presented by Showcase

The King of the Rail is a series of rail jam contests which run on select evenings at the base of Whistler Mountain next to the Fitzsimmons Chair at 7 PM. There are separate categories for snowboarders and skiers, males and females, and adults and youth. Category winners will receive a percentage of the cash entry fees, plus all participants have a chance to win fantastic draw prizes from Showcase, Burton, Atomic, Nintendo, TELUS, DNA and more. Park Rider Ski and Snowboard Sessions

Park Rider Sessions feature slopestyle, rail jams and half-pipe competitions and are open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages. Helmets are mandatory. Pre-registration is strongly recommended as events do sell out. Prior to event day, registration is through all Whistler Blackcomb Guest Relations and Ski School Sales locations (Blackcomb Daylodge, Whistler Village Gondola, Carleton Lodge, Whistler Creekside).

The third annual P'ayakentsut returns with traditional loppet races of varying distances for adults and older teens, ski cross event for younger teens, and fun ski tournament for kids.

A Night at the Opera

The evening will feature members of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra led by conductor and pianist Scott Dunne (Associate Conductor of the LA Philharmonic Hollywood Bowl Orchestra) playing a range of familiar as well as rarely heard arias and instrumental music inspired by world-renowned composers. The concert will also pay a special tribute to the 200th anniversary of the births of Richard Wagner and Giuseppe Verdi. Show starts at 8 PM at Millennium Place. Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for students and seniors and $21 for WAC members.
