The Whistler Sliding Centre was home to the 2010 Winter Olympics' bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton (an individual sport in which the racer slides down the track head first) events. The Whistler Sliding Centre now offers public bobsleigh and skeleton rides during the winter season as part of the sport experience program. The track is also used for on-going athlete training, events and competitions.
Experience the thrill of the Olympic Bobsleigh sport for yourself! Your Bobsleigh Ride begins with an orientation, helmet fitting, track etiquette, safety guidelines and a mock run. After the orientation, you will meet the Whistler Sliding Centre Track Crew, and with them, walk through your final safety checks. Once given the go ahead, a Track Crew member secures the sled for your take-off. A professional pilot will guide you and two fellow participants in the bobsled run of your life. As you accelerate down the track, you can expect to reach the final corner at a speed of 125 km/hr. The uphill outrun will slow you to a safe stop at the finish dock. What a thrill!
